About Us

Our Story

Charnwood House, established in 2003, was created to address the pressing housing requirements of individuals experiencing mental health issues and homelessness in Stratford and the surrounding areas.

Charnwood House exists to provide accommodation and support for individuals with mental health challenges and other associated homelessness-related needs. We offer high-quality housing in a warm and welcoming environment that empowers our service users to either develop or maintain their independence concerning their accommodation and support requirements. Most of our service users stay with us for approximately six months, during which we collaborate with them to prepare for more independent living options. Some of our services focus on preserving their current levels of independence and preventing them from returning to more institutionalized settings.

Every one of our service users has a support plan that undergoes regular reviews with their active participation. Many of our service users have additional needs beyond support, such as general social care requirements. We maintain close partnerships with the NHS, Social Services, and local authority housing and homelessness agencies, contributing to a comprehensive support package.
